Gauging interest — first class not yet scheduled
The New York session has a shape. Most people never learn to see it.
A small-group classroom course on trading futures, taught in person in New York on weekends. $75 a session.
I'm putting the first class together and want to know who'd actually show up before I book a room and pick a date. If that's you, tell me below — it takes about a minute and costs you nothing.
Tell me you're interestedNo cost, no commitment. You'll hear from me once, when there's a real date.
What we'd cover
Four blocks, in order, because each one is useless without the one before it. No signals, no black boxes — the point is that you can read the chart yourself when you go home.
Platform & setup
Picking a platform, funding an account, order types, and what a futures contract actually is. Getting to the point where you can place and cancel an order without panic.
Reading the chart
Candles, timeframes, and where price has repeatedly turned. Learning to mark a chart before the open instead of reacting to it after.
How the market moves
Who's on the other side of your order, why the day has a rhythm, what the open and the close do differently, and why the middle of the session eats accounts.
Setups & risk
A couple of simple, repeatable setups — and the part nobody wants to sit through: position size, stop placement, and how much you're allowed to lose before you close the laptop.
Who this is for
I'd rather have eight people in the room who want to be there than thirty who signed up on impulse.
A good fit if you
- Have never traded, or have traded badly and want to know why
- Can get to New York for an in-person session
- Learn better with a person in the room than a video course
- Have risk capital you could lose without it changing your life
- Want to understand the mechanics, not buy a shortcut
Not a good fit if you
- Are looking for trade calls or someone to follow
- Need this to make money by a specific date
- Would be trading with rent money or borrowed funds
- Want a guaranteed system or a win rate promised up front
- Expect to be profitable when the class ends
Where things stand
Honest status, since you're deciding whether to hand over your email.
Format
In-person classroom, small group. Online option if enough people ask for it.
When
Weekends, so it doesn't collide with a job. Exact date goes out once I know the numbers.
Cost
$75 per session. Nothing due now — you're only telling me you're interested.
Get on the list
This is the whole point of the page. Every answer tells me something about whether to run this, which day to run it, and who's going to be in the room. If not enough people respond, I won't run it — and you'll have lost a minute.
$75 per session, payable when there's an actual date. Nothing is charged here.
Risk disclosure. Trading futures and other leveraged products carries a substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for everyone. Leverage works against you as readily as it works for you. You can lose more than your initial deposit. Only trade with capital you can afford to lose entirely.
Education only. DayTradingNY provides general educational instruction. Nothing offered here is individualized investment advice, a recommendation to buy or sell any instrument, or a solicitation to trade. No result is promised or implied, and past performance — anyone's — does not indicate future results. The large majority of retail futures traders lose money. Attending a class does not change that; it only gives you a clearer view of what you're doing.
